Centre for Qualitative Research in Psychology and Psychosocial Well-Being
LABORATORY OBJECTIVES
The basic goals of the Laboratory for Qualitative Research in Psychology and Psychological well-being are the following:
- Study of the ontological, epistemological, methodological and ethical foundations or assumptions of qualitative research.
- Providing the possibility of training in a variety of qualitative approaches (e.g. interpretive, phenomenological, ethnographic, narrative, constructivist, socio-cultural, etc.) that have been developed in the context of psychology and in related scientific fields.
- Contribution to the education of undergraduate and postgraduate students, PhD candidates and young researchers in qualitative research.
- Training of mental health specialists and related professions in qualitative research and evaluation methods.
- Offering teaching and training work through lectures, seminars, workshops, symposia and conferences - creation of scientific and teaching material.
- Conducting qualitative research and studies - within the framework of collaborations with the community - (e.g. school, professional) with the aim of connecting research and practice in the field of mental health and related scientific fields.
- Scientific collaboration with research groups, research centers and institutes, as well as corresponding internal and external institutions or organizations.
- Promotion of interdisciplinary cooperation and dialogue between various scientific fields (e.g. psychology, philosophy, social anthropology, sociology, education sciences, health sciences, etc.) on issues related to qualitative research.
- Promoting dialogue on 'mixed' social research methods (the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods).
- Conducting training seminars and workshops in qualitative research in Greek and English.
